Chevres Earns Fourth All-American Honor

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. -- The Apprentice School wrestling team is competing in the 2012 National Collegiate Wrestling Association National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida this weekend and currently sit in 11th place out of 79 teams.

Senior Marcus Chevres became the second four-time NCWA All-American in school history by winning his quarterfinal match on Friday. The Norfolk, Va. native is now 27-3 on the year and will wrestle Alex Anunciation of California Baptist in the semifinals Saturday morning. He joins assistant coach Cecil Lee as the only four-time NCWA All-Americans in school history.

Joining Chevres in the All-American lists are first-time honorees Ty Ford (125) and Ian Jones (285). They'll have a chance with four wins each to finish in third place in their weight classes.

Those three NCWA All-Americans raises the total for the Apprentice School to 76 since 1999.
