Geoducks Jump To Early Lead Against Oregon State

The Evergreen State College Geoducks had two wrestlers compete in the Clackamas CC Open at Clackamas Community College in Oregon. Greg Barrette(165 lbs) pinned the #2 seeded, Riley Trindle from Montana Western University in his first match. This temporarily tied the Geoducks for the tournament lead in the 24 team field. Barrette went on to wrestle three more times before losing to Tony Chay of Oregon State University. Christian Sartin (285 lbs) lost by fall to Rico Paz (Clackamas) and dropped a 9-4 decision to Harley Fandrich (Montana-Western). NCAA D1 #10 ranked Oregon State won the team title. Host Clackamas CC, #3 ranked in the NJCAA, was second.

On Jan 26th, the team will be competing at the Boxer Open at Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR.
