Florida Gulf Coast Wrestling Receives $5000 Grant from Brute
Fort Myers, FL., – Florida Gulf Coast University’s NCWA Wrestling program has been awarded a grant totaling approximately \$5000 worth of apparel and equipment from the R.E.A.C.H.E.S. (Rewarding Educational Athletic Choices Helping Each Sport). This generous donation to FGCU’s wrestling club includes16 Brute Wrestling headgear, 16 custom designed Brute sublimated wrestling singlets, 16 sets of Pinnacle warm-ups, coaching shirts, mat tape, and mat cleaner.
“I didn’t say anything to the kids about the donation until the boxes came!” said coach Pat Milkovich, a former 4x NCAA finalist. Of course, the whole team was asking what was in the box as I was walking into the room. I said, “I have your “championship edge” in here!” When I held up a singlet and the warm-up, one of the kids said, “Wow, Coach! We should win more matches just because we’ll be wearing those!”
Coach Milkovich stated, “This is my third year being involved with this club, and we have never had more than 6-7 wrestlers. This year we have 22 signed up, and the wrestlers can’t wait to wear their new singlets, warm-ups, and headgear! This will be the first year that we can field a team that is wearing high-quality gear that actually matches and makes us look like a team.
Best of all, the apparel not only looks great, but the quality is also excellent! On behalf of FGCU and our wrestling club I would like to thank Josiah Henson, Jeff Bowyer, and Brute Wrestling for this generous gift. “
