Rio has NAIA in their scope

On November 29 the University of Rio Grande wrestlers will travel to West Virgina Tech. Since WV tech has acquired NAIA status the Redmen hope to become a varsity sport as well. Later on in the year the Redmen plan on matching up against Notre Dame (ohio). Purpose for adding the teams to the schedule was to rate the wrestlers abilities to "see where they stand." The Redmen have tried to make wrestling a varsity sport for four years. Although unsuccessful the wrestlers hope to use the 2007-2008 season to prove their point with hopes to establish a NAIA team.
