UMBC Wins Doug Cherry Tournament
Easton, Pa. -- UMBC wrestling won the Doug Cherry tournament at Lafayette College Saturday, finishing first out of 14 teams.
Second place honors went to Williamson Trade and third place to Penn State's club team.
UMBC placed nine wrestlers at the event. Alec Pence (184) was first; Greg Robinson (125), Brian Samuels (149), Ryan White (174) and Steve Neshewat (197) finished second; Kekura Musa (141) and Dan Carr (157) were third; and Billy Kuczarski (165) and Karim Mansour (285) placed fourth.
Carr was honored with the most falls, least time award for his four pins.
Shawn Miracle (149) of Blair Academy was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler.
