Kennesaw State Head Coach Resigns
After starting the program head coach Alex Tucker calls it quits. He just feels that he can only do so much. It takes numbers and support to build a nationally ranked program. Tucker says he has given so much time to this endeavor, that he is just "worn slap out". Coach Tucker says he can't thank Kennesaw State University enough for the opportunity that they have given to him. Coach Tucker had compiled a dual record of 15-4 in one years' time, out scoring opponents 745-312, winning a team State Championship, posting three All Americans, including Kennesaw State's first ever National Champion, seven National Qualifiers, two Conference finalist, with one Conference Champion. He played host to a preseason College Open, as well as arranged to host the State Championship in just his second year, all in efforts to build the sport of wrestling in Georgia. When asked, Coach Alex Tucker couldn't say enough great things about the NCWA and great opportunties that it has offered young men, as it did himself. Tucker was the 1998, 158 lb., National Champion and first ever Outstanding Wrestler of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association.
